Rescue & Rehome: Expanding the Maple Street Animal Shelter

Last year Maple Street took in 640 animals and rehomed 581 of them — on a shoestring, with eleven kennels built in 2009. When we hit capacity, and we hit it every summer, we have to say no to the next dog on the list.

This campaign funds a modest, concrete expansion: twelve new kennels, a proper quarantine room, and a small treatment corner so our vet can do same-day intake checks instead of booking outside appointments weeks out.

Construction quotes are locked in with a local builder who has worked with the shelter before, and the county has approved the plans. We break ground the week after this campaign closes.
