Reforest the Bavarian Foothills: 10,000 Native Trees

Reforest the Bavarian Foothills: 10,000 Native Trees

The storms of the last two years took more than 60% of the canopy on our hillside. Left alone, the slope erodes and the bushlark and black grouse that nest here disappear with it.

We are a cooperative of twelve local families who have farmed and forested this valley for generations. Our plan: plant 10,000 native trees — oak, beech, silver fir and rowan — on six hectares, with protective fencing and five summers of care. Planting the trees is the easy part; keeping them alive is where the money goes.

What your contribution covers: saplings from the regional nursery (€2.10 each), deer fencing, watering in the first two summers, and replacement planting where needed.

Every backer receives the planting map with their sponsored plot marked, and we send a photo update every spring. This is a long promise — trees don't grow on internet time — but it's a real one.
